Bruce Fischer

Pastor Bruce Fischer began his ministry as Senior Pastor at the Evangelical Free Church in April, 2008.  He has served in pastoral ministry for 21 years, previously in Evangelical Free Churches in Maplewood, Minnesota, and Grand Forks, North Dakota.  He is very gifted musically and has spent a significant portion of his ministry focusing on improving the effectiveness of Sunday morning worship services at the churches where he has served.  He is also a dynamic and gifted preacher, and has a passion for relevant preaching that connects with the ongoing needs of the church and community.  He has a Master of Divinity degree from Bethel University and has been ordained by the  Evangelical Free Church of America.  Bruce and his wife, Cilla, have three adult children.

Melvin Sich

Pastor Mel has served in the capacity of Associate Pastor at the Thief River Falls Evangelical Free Church since 1993.  His responsibilities include oversight of Christian Education and worship along with other ministerial duties.  He was raised in central Nebraska and is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he marched in the Cornhusker marching band and received a Bachelor of Music Education degree in 1975.  He taught music in a public school for two years, then enrolled at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He graduated from TEDS in 1980 with a Master of Religious Education degree. He served churches in Wisconsin and Texas before moving to Minnesota.

Mel and his wife, Karen, have two children; Jesse, who is a graduate of the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis, and Jeremy, who is a junior at the University of North Dakota.  Mel enjoys sports, but mostly as an observer and fan these days. He still plays his euphonium in the community band and occasionally in church.  Karen is an accomplished pianist and works as a secretary.  She loves crossword puzzles and reading.  Mel and Karen work well together in the music  ministries, and coordinate the AWANA  ministry at church.
